Equinor, Aker BP make gas find just northwest of Balder field

Norwegian ‌oil firms Equinor and Aker BP have ​discovered gas in ​the so-called Linga prospect 10 ⁠miles northwest of ​the Balder field in ​the North Sea, the Norwegian offshore directorate said on ​Monday.

Preliminary estimates ​put the size of the ‌discovery ⁠at between 0.1 and 2.1 million standard cubic metres of ​recoverable ​oil ⁠equivalent, the offshore directorate said. Equinor ​operates the prospect ​and ⁠holds a 60% stake, while Aker ⁠BP ​owns the ​remaining 40%.
